ages!
Sunday
School starts at 9:00 am, with all ages (children through adult)
meeting together in Larrick Hall for doughnuts and a time of
fellowship. Classes begin formally at 9:15. |

Lecture
based Bible study class on I and II Samuel. New
Seekers (Room
15) …
The Seekers class
will offer a three part class this year. The first 2-3
months will be led by Glen Kirkconnell on the
topic of Being
Presbyterian in the Bible Belt. Mike Johnston and John Raulerson will
follow up till the end of December with a study of Women of the
Bible. From January until June we will have John Raulerson
and John Jackson leading a discussion onJesus the Man. Classes will be
discussion and not lecture
based. Old Testament Class (Rhudy Bell -
Compher Chapel) …
The class will be stusdying the life of the
Hebrews as they moved through the wilderness, where they
established the Jewish Religion. We will be beginning with the
meeting at Mount Sinai in Chapter 19. Chapter 20 is about the 10
commandants and the Law of Israel.
The Wired Word
(Rev. Laughridge - Room 1)…Theological
and Biblical reflection and discussion on current news and
events.

Our
youth Sunday school classes combine
faith-related topical discussions and Bible study for
teenagers. Curriculum varies based on current needs and
interest.

Elementary
Education:
...The
elementary education program at ForestHills uses age appropriate
lessons to teach the Gospel to our youngest members in a hand-on,
fun, and meaningful way. We have 4 classes for children:

Rally
Day:
...A Sunday in
August to honor and celebrate the children of the church.
After church, lunch and activities are provided for all ages.
Vacation
Bible
S
chool:
...Usually the
third week of June, this is an intergenerational event at Forest
Hills. We begin with a meal at 6:00 p.m. Following dinner,
classes are offered for all age groups. Nursery care is also
provided.

now and register for this year's VBS: All Aboard the
Gospel
Express, June
19-23.
Youth
Activities:
Our youth program is growing and evolving so
check back to find out what new things are happening. Our program
currently includes:
- Youth Choir
- Our youth choir meets every Wednesday during the school year at
6:30 pm. Students learn to sing and play contemporary praise
and worship songs. The youth choir sings in worship services
at different times throughout the year.
- Youth Group -
Every Wednesday following youth choir, middle school and high
school youth meet in the youth room from 7:15 - 8:30 pm.
Students build community through games and sharing and nurture
faith through discussion and Bible study.
- Special
Activities - About once a month, fun events (beach trips, bowling,
etc.) are planned as an opportunity to build relationships and to
invite friends.
- Mission
and Service - The youth participate each year in the national
Souper Bowl of Sharing to raise money and awareness for
hunger. Youth also serve in a variety of ways around
the church as ushers, musicians, baby-sitters, and
more.
- Retreats - Every year, high
school students attend the Presbyterian youth conference at
Montreat. Students also participate in the middle school and
high school retreats sponsored by Tampa Bay
Presbytery.
